This course is designed for students who want to learn Danish very quickly and who are willing to work hard to do so – both in class and at home. You have completed a certain degree of university level education, and your English is excellent. You may have held a health service or IT job in your country of origin, and you want to get to work in Denmark as quickly as possible. From the very beginning, this course will focus on grammar and pronunciation.
The course is made up of short modules, and each module is concluded with an exam. The instructors are pronunciation specialists, and in every module your pronunciation skills will be tested to help you build a solid foundation for spoken Danish.
At IA Sprog, we use a specific methodology for teaching correct pronunciation. Many foreigners find the pronunciation of Danish words and the special Danish letters difficult, but you will quickly master common expressions for everyday use.
In the Intensive Danish course you will learn to pronounce the words correctly and place the emphasis properly in order to make yourself understood in Danish in various settings such as at university or at work. You will also learn to write various texts; some are brief emails and others are essays on topics related to current affairs in Denmark. Finally, you will learn to read and understand newspaper articles and similar materials.
The program is structured in a way to allow the students to have a say in the selection of topics for use in the classroom. At the end of the final module, you are eligible for the Danish Language Exam 3.
