If you already know some Danish
If you are already able to speak and write some Danish, you can start or continue in a Danish class for continuing students. Maybe you have taken a break from your classes and would like to get back to learning more Danish again, or you would like to switch from the school you are now attending, to come study with us instead.
If you are not already a student at IA Sprog, or you have not completed a module in another language center, you will – after an assessment of your skills and goals by one of our capable counsellors – be placed in the right Danish course and module. In cooperation with your counsellor you will then find the class that best suits you. See an overview of our full course program below.

What you will learn in IA Sprog’s Danish courses
The classes provide you with a good foundation for being active in Danish both in and outside of class. You train Danish conversation, and pronunciation is in focus during the entire training. Our special pronunciation materials allow you to train a fluent and correct Danish right from the start.
Of course, grammar plays a major role in the classes. And so does reading and writing texts in Danish.
In addition, we place emphasis on training a vocabulary that enables you to understand and speak Danish, helping you to navigate anywhere – at work, studying, at your children’s school or institution, in your social life, or when you communicate with the state or municipality.
Danish Language Course 1, 2 or 3? It depends on your background and your need for learning Danish
Danish Language Course 1 is designed for students with little or no school background, who have not learned to read and write in their native language, or who have not learned to read and write the Latin alphabet. You learn to speak, understand and read Danish, enabling you to handle yourself in everyday life and at your job.
Danish Language Course 2 is designed for students who have a short educational and training background from their home country. You learn about the labour market and society, as well as learning to read, write and speak Danish. You can use the Danish classes to qualify for a job or participate in courses targeted at the labour market.
Danish Language Course 3 is for students who already have a higher level of education and who wish to study, pursue further education or work in Denmark. You learn the nuances of the Danish language and how to provide deeper perspective in Danish. And you gain knowledge of Danish society, culture and history.
Tests and exams at the language school
The three Danish courses are all divided into modules, each ending with a test which you must pass in order to continue on to the next module.
The Danish courses are concluded with an oral and written examination. A passed Danish exam may be decisive as to whether you are able to obtain permanent residence in Denmark, and whether you can continue in the educational system.
