About the Danish language exams

The Ministry of Immigration and Integration is responsible for the four Danish language exams –Danish Language Exam 1 (PD1), Danish Language Exam 2 (PD2), Danish Language Exam 3 (PD3) and the Higher Danish Language Exam.

All four of them consist of an oral and a written part and comprise four areas – reading comprehension, written presentation, listening comprehension and oral communication.

About the Danish Citizenship Test (Medborgerskabsprøven)

The Danish citizenship test is one of the conditions for obtaining a permanent residence permit. The test is a written test and lasts 30 minutes. You pass the test if you get 20 correct answers out of 25 possible.

About the Active Citizen Exam (Indfødsretsprøven)

A passed Active Citizen Exam is a condition for obtaining Danish citizenship. The exam is a written test and lasts  45 minutes. You pass the test if you get 32 correct answers out of 40 possible.

Test Fees 2018

If you are not a student at IA Sprog, the test fee is DKK 1,335 for PD1, PD2 and PD3 and DKK 801 for the Higher Danish Language Exam.

The fee for the Danish Citizenship Test and the Active Citizen Exam is 768 kr.
