Classic 1 is designed for students who need to learn to read and write the Latin alphabet – usually students who have had limited schooling, or who were educated using a different alphabet.
In this course, you will learn the Latin alphabet and how to speak Danish on a level enabling you to navigate everyday life, such as shopping, visiting the doctor’s office or the social services office and getting involved in conversations at your children’s school or at your place of work. You will learn how to read and write brief messages, and you will find out more about Denmark’s culture and Danish working habits.
In Classic 1, the groups are small so you and your fellow students get individual attention. We tailor the lessons to your specific needs so you learn what you need to learn – at a manageable pace in a calm environment. Classic 1 has you working with authentic current textssuch as brochures, letters from the government and appliance user manuals.
Our teachers prepare a large part of the material based on everyday situations and your immediate environment – such as cooking, shopping, taking care of children and using public transport. We supply tablets or computers for use in classroom sessions.
Classic 1 is modular and includes a total of 6 modules. The first five modules are each concluded by exams. Module 6 ends with the national Danish Language Exam 1.
